Lancaster, Pa. – (11/4/2025) – With the results of the 2025 Atlantic East Conference (AEC) Women's Cross Country Championship in the books, Gwynedd Mercy University freshman
Abigail Flannery (Cinnaminson, N.J.) and sophomore
Ava Ezzie (Drexel Hill, Pa.) are among the 14 student-athletes officially named to the
2025 All-AEC Women's Cross Country Team and Major Award
Winners today. Both Griffins earned All-AEC Second Team status for their finishes at the championship; Flannery placed eighth with a time of 27:32.6 and Ezzie placed 13
th with a time of 29:01.1.
The All-AEC Women's Cross Country Team honors the races' Top-14 finishers with first seven earning All-AEC First Team recognition and the second seven garnering All-AEC Second Team respects. In addition to the All-AEC Women's Cross Country Team members, the league office also announced the 2025 AEC Men's Cross Country Major Awards Winners; Champion (Marymount University), Runner-Up (Immaculata University), the Coaching Staff of the Year (Immaculata University), the AEC Elite Scholar Athlete Award (Formerly "Elite 20"); Marymount University sophomore Brier Amerlinck (East Amherst, N.Y.), the AEC Women's Cross Country Rookie of the Year; Pratt Institute freshman Melis Kavlicoglu (Reno, Nev.) and the AEC Women's Cross Country Runner of the Year; Immaculata University junior Aubrey Donahue (Sewell, N.J.), who completed the six-kilometer (6K) course at the Hudson Valley Sportsdome in 25:03.4.

Flannery was Gwynedd Mercy University top finisher in every race of her debut season, from a two-meter personal-record of 13:37.4 at The College of New Jersey (TCNJ) Blue and Gold Invitational (Aug. 29), to a 5K personal-record of 22:11.4 at Lebanon Valley College's Dutchmen Invitational (Sept. 6), and a 6K personal-record of 25:13.1 at Rowan University's Border Battle (Oct. 18). She was named the AEC Women's Cross Country Runner of the Week on October 13 after pacing Gwynedd Mercy University to a seventh-place finish (7th of 8, 168 points) in the DeSales University Invitational (Oct. 11) with her 15th-place time of 25:39.9.
Ezzie enjoyed a four-minute improvement on her time at the Hudson Valley Sportsdome as her 29:01.1 time at the 2025 AEC Women's Cross Country Championship was placed her 17 places higher than her 2024 time of 33:02.7 (30
th). Like Flannery, her performances in the The College of New Jersey (TCNJ) Blue and Gold Invitational (Aug. 29), Lebanon Valley College's Dutchmen Invitational (Sept. 6), and Rowan University's Border Battle (Oct. 18) all served as personal-records for respective distances of two meters (35
th, 14:23.0), 5K (115
th, 23:23.7), and 6K (257
th, 27:11.8).
