Logan Township, N.J. - (10/18/2025) - The Gwynedd Mercy University men's and women's cross country teams took time before today's races at Rowan University's Border Battle to recognize the collegiate career of senior
Sebastian DeSimone (West Orange, N.J.). A four-year member of the Red and Gold, DeSimone has been the heart of the program since he set foot on campus. He did not disappoint with today's performance as he finished 277th in the men's eight-kilometer (8K) with a personal record time of 29:22.2. Freshman
Conner Brennan (Hatboro, Pa.) was the Griffins' top finisher in the race with a time of 28:58.2 placing him 262nd. The Gwynedd Mercy University women's cross country team finished 31st of 31 teams in the women's six-kilometer (6K) with 984 points; freshman
Abigail Flannery (Cinnaminson, N.J.) was the first Griffin across the finish line as she placed 194th with a time of 25:13.1.
Both races were run by Carnegie Mellon University, who took the men's race (1st of 35, 67 points) with three of the Top-12 finishers and the women's (1st of 31, 32 points) with four of the Top-7. The Tartans did not offer the top male finisher - Haverford College senior Micah Lachman (Bethesda, Md.) was the winner with a time of 24:28.8 - but they did offer the women's as graduate Chloe Bronson (Penn Township, Pa.) completed the course in 20:57.9.
