Colliluori Named 2025 AEC Women’s Lacrosse Rookie of the Year, Three Griffins Named All-League

Lancaster, Pa. – (5/7/2025) – Honoring the league's top regular-season performers, Interim Commissioner Rebecca Mullen, has officially released the members of the 2025 All-Atlantic East Conference (AEC) Women's Lacrosse Team and 2025 AEC Women's Lacrosse Rookie of the Year: Elena Colliluorimajor award winners. Freshman midfielder Elena Colliluori (Gilbertsville, Pa.) was named the 2025 AEC Women's Lacrosse Rookie of the Year, while three Griffins - senior midfielder Cheyenne Avellino (Egg Harbor Township, N.J.), sophomore attack Rebecca Gordon (Sicklerville, N.J.), and sophomore defender Teagan O'Neill (Pennsauken, N.J.) – garnered All-AEC Second Team recognition.
 
The recently crowned AEC Champions, Marymount University presented well in the major awards with junior Olivia Durso (Ashburn, Va.) named the AEC Elite 20 award winner, senior Abby Dunn (Pasadena, Md.) earning the 2025 AEC Women's Lacrosse Defensive Player of the Year award, and Head Coach Kate Athing and her staff – Rachel Crawford, Jaylen Stoodley, and Nora Hanlon - sharing the 2025 AEC Women's Lacrosse Coaching Staff of the Year award with Marywood University's staff; Head Coach K2025 All-AEC Women's Lacrosse Second Team: Cheyenne Avellinorista Strausser and Sarah McCormick. The 2025 AEC Women's Lacrosse Player of the Year was Neumann University graduate midfielder Lindsey Fagan (Norwood, Pa.).
 
Coach Athing and her staff has directed Marymount University to a current 17-2 standing that included a perfect 5-0 run through the AEC. Meawhile, Coach Strausser and her staff led Marywood University to a 9-8 overall record and a 3-2 conference season in their second season with the program.
 
Fagan was recognized as the league's top performer with AEC Top-10 figures in shots (2nd, 144), goals (5th, 57), assists (T5th, 22), points (T4th, 79), and draw controls (5th, 80). She helped lead the Knights to a 10-92025 All-AEC Women's Lacrosse Second Team: Rebecca Gordon overall record and a 4-1 league finish. Dunn sported AEC Top-10 numbers in draw controls (6th, 77), ground balls (4th, 60), and caused turnovers which she led with 52 (1st).
 
Colliluori made an immediate impact to the Gwynedd Mercy University midfield with 31 points (26 goals, 5 assists), 47 shots, nine caused turnovers, 19 ground balls, and 72 draw controls that ranked her seventh among her conference rivals.

O'Neill and Gordon enjoyed strong sophomore campaigns; the former totaled 20 ground balls, 12 caused turnovers, and a draw control, while the latter led the Griffins in points (49) and shots (93). G2025 All-AEC Women's Lacrosse Second Team: Teagan O'Neillordon's numbers in shots and assists ranked her eighth and tied her for 10th (18) in the AEC, respectively. She additionally recorded 27 draw controls, 10 ground balls, and six caused turnovers.
 
Avellino showcased her great two-way play with AEC Top-10 statistics in shots (9th, 92), goals (10th, 40), draw controls (9th, 62), and caused turnovers (8th, 28). She finished her swan song with a career-high 40 goals and seven assists for a career-high 47 points. During the course of the season, Avellino reached the century mark in points (102), draw controls (152), ground balls (127), and caused turnovers (100); a feat that established her as one of two Griffins to record at least 100 points (vs. Marywood on Apr. 16), 100 draw controls (@ Wilkes University on Feb. 26), 100 ground balls (vs. Bryn Tahy on Mar. 12), and 100 caused turnovers (@ Marymount University on Apr. 23) in her collegiate career.
