Northborough, Mass. – (7/30/2025) – The Gwynedd Mercy University women's lacrosse team was one of 383 schools across the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Division I, II, III, and National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) recently recognized as
2024-2025 Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA) Academic Honor Squads (

four Griffins – seniors;
Cheyenne Avellino (Egg Harbor Township, N.J.),
Hailey Bloom (Margate City, N.J.),
Alysia Collins (Royersford, N.J.), and junior
Brianna Godwin (Telford, Pa.) - were named to the
2024-2025 IWLCA NCAA DIII Academic Honor Roll (

To qualify for as an IWLCA Academic Honor Squad, programs must achieve a 3.2 or higher team grade point average (GPA) for the given academic year. Meanwhile, IWLCA Academic Honor Roll members must be a junior, senior, or graduate student that earned a cumulative academic GPA of 3.50 or greater for the given academic year.
1,284 student-athletes from 201 NCAA DIII institutions were recognized on the 2024-2025 IWLCA Academic Honor Roll. All four Griffins are first-time members of the honor roll. Avellino, Bloom, and Collins were all inducted to Chi Alpha Sigma; the National College Athlete Honor Society in 2025. Avellino was named to the 2025 College Sports Communicators (CSC) National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Division III Academic All-District Women's At-Large Team, while Bloom and Collins achieved the same honor in 2024. She was also a three-time member of the AEC All-Academic Team (2022-2023, 2023-2024, 2024-2025) and a six-time member of the Gwynedd Mercy University Athletics Academic Elite (F22, S23, F23, S24, F24, S25). Like Avellino, Bloom was also a three-time member of the AEC All-Academic Team (2022-2023, 2023-2024, 2024-2025) and a six-time member of the Gwynedd Mercy University Athletics Academic Elite (F22, S23, F23, S24, F24, S25). Meanwhile, Collins is a four-time AEC All-Academic Team (2021-2022, 2022-2023, 2023-2024, 2024-2025) and a seven-time member of the Gwynedd Mercy University Athletics Academic Elite (F21, F22, S23, F23, S24, F24, S25).
