Gwynedd Mercy Makes it Four in a Row with AEC Season Sweep of Mighty Macs

Immaculata, Pa. - (2/8/2025) - Gwynedd Mercy University (17-3, 7-2) won their fourth straight league contest and completed their season sweep of Immaculata University (6-16, 1-8) with this afternoon's 72-63 victory over the Mighty Macs. The Griffins used a 12-4 (17:48) head start and a 51.9% (14-of-27) first-half shooting performance to pocket a 37-33 (0:05) advantage for intermission. After the break, graduate guard Shawn Summers Jr. (Montclair, N.J.) and senior guard Mike Marable (Philadelphia, Pa.) spirited a late run that separated the Red and Gold from a narrow 57-55 (7:49) spread to their nine-point triumph. Summers's defense - seven rebounds, two blocks, and three steals - fueled him for a game-high 27 points, while Marable filled the box score with eight points, 10 rebounds, eight assists, a block, and a steal.
