2025-2026 Morgan's Message Student-Athlete Mental Health Awareness Nights: Women's Basketball (January 21) and Men's Basketball (January 28)
Gwynedd Valley, Pa. – (12/8/2025) – Continuing a series of student-athlete mental health awareness games from the fall seasons, the Gwynedd Mercy University men's and women's basketball teams have officially announced their Morgan's Message Nights for the 2025-2026 season. The Gwynedd Mercy University women's basketball team will host their Morgan's Message Night on Wednesday, January 21, when they host Atlantic East Conference (AEC) rival, Centenary University (N.J.) for a 6:00 p.m. tip-off. The following week, on Wednesday, January 28 (6:00 p.m.), the men's basketball team will raise awareness for student-athlete mental health as they take on AEC foe, Marymount University.

Gwynedd Mercy University Athletics and Morgan's Message (Griffin Engage) are collaborating on a series of awareness games throughout the 2025-2026 sport seasons. "Balancing schoolwork and athletics can take a toll on mental health, leading to stress and burnout. It is crucial for us to take care of our mental well-being and do anything we can to help spread Morgan's Message about student-athlete mental health," stated Gwynedd Mercy University women's soccer senior – and Morgan's Message Club President - Natalie Morris (Boyertown, Pa.). "For student-athletes, prioritizing mental health ensures balanced development, resilience, and healthier coping mechanism!"

Morgan's Message mission is to amplify stories, resources, and expertise to strengthen student-athlete mental health, build a community by and for athletes through peer-to-peer conversations and provide a platform for advocacy. Established in 2020, the community organization strives to eliminate the stigma surrounding mental health within the student-athlete community and equalize the treatment of physical and mental health in athletics. They aim to expand the dialogue on mental health by normalizing conversations, empowering those who suffer in silence, and supporting those who feel alone.

Members of the Gwynedd Mercy University's intercollegiate athletic teams and coaching staffs will be wearing commemorative t-shirts, while representatives of Morgan's Message will be in attendance to provide more information and answer questions about the work they do to raise awareness about the importance of student-athlete mental health.
