Gwynedd Valley, Pa. - (11/10/2025) - Gwynedd Mercy University (2-0) had little trouble finding their second win of the season as a 22-4 opening run gave the Griffins an easy path to an 81-61 victory in tonight's home opener versus St. Joseph's University Brooklyn (0-1). Senior guard
D.J. Johnson (Norristown, Pa.) scored the Red and Gold's first nine points, bringing the crowd to their feet and inspiring his teammates to get involved to the tune of a 42-18 first-half spread. In the end, sophomore guard
Bruce Smith (Philadelphia, Pa.) led four Griffins in double figures with 18 points; Johnson (11 points), graduate guard
Dylan Harris (Bloomsburg, Pa.) (12), and junior guard
Zaiyin Keys (Chichester, Pa.) (13) were the others.
