Bradley’s Brace Sparks Comeback as Gwynedd Mercy Tops Pratt, 4-2

New York, N.Y. - (11/1/2025) – The number five-seeded Gwynedd Mercy University (10-8-1, 4-4) traveled to the number four-seeded Pratt Institute (8-6-2, 4-4) for the first round of the Atlantic East Conference (AEC) Championship Tournament. After trailing early, Gwynedd Mercy erupted four second-half goals to surge past Pratt, 4-2. Senior forward Kira Bradley (Langhorne, Pa.) led the Griffins' attack with two goals, including the game-sealer in the 87th minute (86:54, 4-2), while sophomore defender Paige Fienman (Philadelphia, Pa.) and freshman forward Drew Bark (Philadelphia, Pa.)  each added scores during a decisive 30-minute stretch.

Griffin Highlights:

  • Pratt jumped ahead just 79 seconds (1:19) into the match. The Cannoneers nearly doubled their lead midway through the first half, but Gwynedd senior goalkeeper Natalie Gablein (Philadelphia, Pa.) came up big, stopping a penalty kick in the 36th minute to keep it 1-0.
  • That save proved pivotal as the Griffins flipped the match after halftime. Bradley buried a penalty kick in the 59th minute (58:24) to even the score (1-1).
  • Fienman's booming direct kick from 35 yards knotted the game (2-2) in the 73rd (72:29) minute, and Bark put the Griffins ahead five minutes later (77:48), pouncing on a rebound after an initial save. Bradley capped the comeback with her second goal in the 87th minute, finishing a rebound following a senior forward Natalie Morris (Boyertown, Pa.) free kick.
  • Senior goalkeepers Gablein and Madisson Ronn (Warrington, Pa.) combined for six saves, with Ronn earning the win after a scoreless second half.

Gwynedd Mercy University will travel to the number one-seeded Marywood University for a semifinal showdown on Tuesday, November 4th, with a 7:00 p.m. kickoff time.
