Gwynedd Valley, Pa. - (4/3/2024) - Poor weather conditions continued to be the theme for the 2024 season as Gwynedd Mercy University (3-7, 0-1) opened their Atlantic East Conference (AEC) schedule with a rain-soaked - thunder-and-lightning delayed - affair against Cabrini University (8-3, 1-0). The Cavaliers got out to a 3-0 lead before the 1:40 delay. Afterwards, the Griffins forced Cabrini University into a timeout (2:42 1QTR) with back-to-back goals from sophomore attack

Ian Kish (Easton, Pa.) (2-4, 2:42 1QTR); 4-2. The frame ended on that spread, but the Cavaliers used the quarter break to regroup for a 15-1 run to a 19-3 final.
Griffin Highlights
- Seaman's score came off the feed from senior attack Nick Flamma (Sewell, N.J.). Kish's was unassisted.
- Junior midfielder Richie Hughes (Turnersville, N.J.) added the third Gwynedd Mercy University goal at with 6:21 (3-8) remaining in the second quarter.
- The Griffins totaled 15 shots. Seaman (6) and Hughes (5) combined for 11 of them.
- The Red and Gold was 17-of-27 (.630) on their clear opportunities, recovered 11 ground balls, and won one face-off (1-of-26, 0.04).
- Junior goalkeeper Jared Devine (Pottstown, Pa.) (3-7) recorded 15 saves, two ground balls, and one caused turnovers.
Gwynedd Mercy University returns to action next Wednesday, April 10, when they visit Marymount University for a 4:00 p.m. AEC contest.
