Philadelphia, Pa. – (4/24/2024) – Sophomore Ava Augustine (Conshohocken, Pa.) of the Gwynedd Mercy University cheerleading team was one of eight student-athletes recently named to the Philadelphia Area Sports Information Directors Association (Philly-SIDA) Women's At-Large Academic All-Area Team. Drexel University squash senior Margot Prow (London, England) was named the Philly-SIDA Women's At-Large Performer of the Year.
 
Selected by the sport information directors from 30 institutions in the Philadelphia metropolitan area, Augustine and Prow were joined on the Philly-SIDA Women's At-Large Academic All-Area Team by Neumann University ice hockey sophomore Jamiyah Alexander (Philadelphia, Pa.), Haverford College fencing junior Sophie Gardiner (Stoneham, Mass.), University of Pennsylvania gymnastics seniors Kiersten Belkoff (Tucson, Ariz.) and Sara Kenefick (Charlotte, N.C.), as well as Chestnut Hill College bowlers sophomore Kayleina McGonigal (Philadelphia, Pa.) and junior Eryn Moore (Bainbridge, Pa.).
 
A transfer from Cabrini University, Augustine was a two-time member of the President's List (Fall 2022, Spring 2023) and Alpha Lambda Delta Honors Society (2022-2023) before joining the Gwynedd Mercy University cheerleading team. Since becoming a Griffin, she is a member of the University's honors program (2023-2024) and named to the Athletics Academic Elite and Dean's List for the fall semester of 2023. Augustine volunteers her time as a chemistry and mathematics tutor for high school students and attended Gwynedd Mercy University's 2024 Autism Conference.
