Gwynedd Valley, Pa. – (2/12/2024) – At halftime of Saturday's (Feb. 10) women's basketball home finale, the Gwynedd Mercy University cheerleading team honored three alumni in attendance –
Casey (DeLucca) Conn '05,
Danielle Kaprielyan '06, and
Christina (Phillips) Fields '08 – and many other who could not, for their contributions to the program. "I want to thank and recognize these women, and those who were not able to make it today, four founding the cheerleading program at our University many years ago," said Gwynedd Mercy University Head Cheerleading Coach
Heather Kilduff. "These individuals paved the way four our team and made it possible for us to transition from a club to an athletics-supported program. Your hard work and dedication in the classroom, as well as, on the court have established a strong foundation and reputation for our program's future success!"
Prior to Saturday's Atlantic East Conference (AEC) home basketball doubleheader, the current members of the Gwynedd Mercy University cheerleading team, their staff, the alumni in attendance, and their families gathered in the Griffin Complex for an inaugural brunch. Photos, good food, and valuable time was shared by all as alumni imparted professional advice and fond memories to the current undergraduate roster.
