Tysons, Va. - (4/13/2024) - Gwynedd Mercy University (8-17, 2-6) traveled to Capital One Park in Tysons, Virginia to face Marymount University for the first two games of their Atlantic East Conference (AEC) series with the Saints. Sophomore catcher Mike Storti (Philadelphia, Pa.) knocked in the only Griffin run of the opener with his fourth-inning single to left field, while a sacrifice fly freshman shortstop Drew Haines (Hammonton, N.J.) and a walk to senior left fielder Nick Price (Levittown, Pa.) plated the two Red and Gold runs in the fourth inning of game two. Unfortunately, Gwynedd Mercy University lost both league games to Marymount University; 4-1 and 7-2.

Griffin Highlights - Game One

• Gwynedd Mercy University's fourth-inning at-bat started with a walk to junior first baseman Ricky Templeton (West Deptford, N.J.), but it was Price who scored after reaching on a fielder's choice and hustling home on Storti's single to left field; 1-2.
• Senior Frank Ebling (Cherry Hill, N.J.) took the loss (4-2) despite holding the Saints to two earned runs on eight hits and two walks. He struck out five.

Griffin Highlights - Game Two

• Sophomore right fielder Sam Junker (Ambler, Pa.) was beamed to start the Red and Gold's productive fourth inning. He advanced to second base on an Ebling fielder's choice, and third base on a Templeton single to left field, before scoring on Haines' sacrifice fly; 1-1.
• After a walk to junior catcher Justin Smith (Broomall, Pa.), Price's walk forced Ebling home to give the Griffins' a 2-1 lead.
• Junker (2-for-3) and Haines (2-for-3) recorded two hits apiece.
• Junior Cooper Root (Runnemede, N.J.) took the loss (1-5). He held the Saints to five earned runs on ten hits and a walk, while striking out two over seven innings.
