Bryn Athyn, Pa. (3/23/2024) - Gwynedd Mercy University (3-6) traveled to Bryn Athyn looking for their third straight win. With a downpour occurring all game, the weather did not stop the red and gold from pouring on goals on the Lions winning the contest 20-4. This is the first time since April 1, 2023, that the Griffins reached 20 goals in a single game. Senior attacker Nick Flamma (Sewell, N.J.) finished the game with a season-high six goals in the match. Flamma also finished with two assists, three groundballs, and two caused turnovers giving Flamma a season-high eight points against Bryn Athyn.
Griffin Highlights:
- Junior midfielder Ian Kish (Easton, Pa.) made his presence known in the offensive zone as he finished with a game-high 14 shots. With all these shots Kish was able to find the back of the net on four of them and an assist to give Kish five points.
- Both freshman attacker Jeremiah Destin (Philadelphia, Pa.) and sophomore attacker Nick Citrigno (Southampton, Pa.) recorded three goals. This was Destin's first time in his career finishing with a multigoal game.
- Junior goalkeeper Jared Devine (Pottstown, Pa.) did not see much action as he only recorded two saves on six shots on goal earning the win (3-6).
- Gwynedd Mercy controlled the pace of the game as they outshot Bryn Athyn 52-10, while also forcing the Lions in 24 turnovers. Sophomore defenseman Dylan Gazda (Pottstown, Pa.) finished with a game-high three caused turnovers.
Gwynedd Mercy University begins its Atlantic East Conference (AEC) schedule on Wednesday, April 3, when they host Cabrini University for a 4:00 p.m. faceoff.
