Rebecca Gordon (Sicklerville, N.J.) securing her fourth goal of the season to even the score 2-2. The Knights would go on to score five unanswered goals and eventually walk away comfortably with a 20-6 victory over the red and gold.
Griffin Highlights:
- Freshman goalkeeper Victoria Sloan (Philadelphia, Pa.) was busy all day in the net for the Griffins as she finished with nine saves in 37:10 minutes of play in the loss (0-6). Freshman goalkeeper Nikki Williams (Cinnaminson, N.J.) played the remaining time in goal for Gwynedd Mercy. She recorded her first collegiate career save in the third quarter (3:06) and finished with four saves.
- Both senior attackers Kristin Varilla (Lansdale, Pa.), Caroline Cleary (Chalfont, Pa.), junior midfielder Cheyenne Avellino (Egg Harbor Township, N.J.), and Gordon all finished with a team-high two points in the contest. Varilla finished with two goals while the rest finished with a goal and an assist.
- Gwynedd Mercy struggled with the clears as they were 11-of-19 (58%), while Arcadia was nearly perfect clearing 13-of-14 (93%) of their attempts.
Gwynedd Mercy University continues their road on Wednesday, March 20, when the team faces Alvernia University for a 6:00 p.m. start.
