Fast Start From Rangers Is Too Much For Red And Gold To Overcome

Madison, N.J. (2/28/2024) - Gwynedd Mercy University (0-3) continued their early season road trip traveling to Drew University (3-1). The Rangers took an early 1-0 lead just 1:34 into the first quarter and would keep the pressure on the Griffins throughout the contest. Senior attacker Nick Flamma (Sewell, N.J.) recorded his first three goals of his senior campaign while recording an assist to finish with a team-high four points. Sophomore attacker Gunnar Seaman (Worcester, Pa.) finished with the same stat line as the former tallying his fifth, sixth, and seventh goal of the season. Seaman finished with a team-high nine shots and recorded two groundballs. 
 
Griffin Highlights:
  • Gwynedd Mercy continues to struggle early in the faceoff circle early in the season as the team finished 8-of-29 (28%) in faceoffs won. 
  • The Griffins were 0-3 on the extra man advantage, while Drew University was 2-of-3. 
  • The Rangers not only outshot Gwynedd Mercy 55-35, but also controlled the ground ball category 31-18. 
  • Sophomore attacker Josh Devine (Pottstown, Pa.) finished with a team-high three groundballs, a goal, and an assist. 
  • Junior goalkeeper Jared Devine (Pottstown, Pa.) was busy in the net for the Griffins as he finished with 20 saves on 36 shots (55%) in the loss (0-3).
 
Gwynedd Mercy University continues its road trip on Saturday, March 2, when they travel to Arcadia University for a 3:00 p.m. contest.
