(3/2/2024) - Gwynedd Mercy University (0-4) continues to search for their first win of the season as the team traveled down 309 to take on Arcadia University (3-2). 26 seconds into the contest the Knights took an early 1-0 advantage and would hold the lead the rest of the contest earning an 18-9 victory. Josh Devine (Pottstown, Pa.) finished with a career-high and game-high six goals in the contest. Devine now has a total of 12 goals this season and recorded one groundball against Arcadia as well.
Griffin Highlights:
- Senior short-stick defensive midfielder Shane Langefeld (Hainesport, N.J.) finished with a team-high five faceoffs won, however, the team only won six of the 31 faceoffs (19%).
- Gwynedd Mercy was 0-3 in extra man opportunities while the Knights were a perfect 3-of-3.
- The Griffins did not register double-digit shots in any quarter while the knights registered 16 or more shots in every quarter except the third (9).
- Junior midfielder Richie Hughes (Turnersville, N.J.) and senior attacker Nick Flamma (Sewell, N.J.) found the back of the net along with Devine. The former finished with two goals, while the latter finished with a goal and an assist.
- Junior goalkeeper Jared Devine (Pottstown, Pa.) played all 60 minutes for the red and gold and finished with 13 saves in the loss (0-4).
Gwynedd Mercy University continues to look for its first win in the 2024 season and will get its next opportunity on Wednesday, March 6, when they travel to Widener University for a 7:00 p.m. contest.
