Gwynedd Valley, Pa. - (11/13/2024) - Gwynedd Mercy University (2-0) gave Arcadia University (0-3) little room for error in tonight's Battle of 309 as the Griffins assumed a 52-34 halftime perch before celebrating a 91-65 triumph. The Red and Gold shot 60.0% (21-of-35) from the field and 87.5% (7-of-8) from the free throw line in the first half, while holding the Knights to a 33.3% (10-of-30) success rate from the floor and forcing them into nine turnovers. In the second half, Gwynedd Mercy University maxed their advantage at 36 points halfway through, 76-40 (10:12), and emptied the bench where it matched it just four minutes later; 87-51 (6:14). Junior guard D.J. Johnson (Norristown, Pa.) led five Griffins in double figures with a game-high 18 points; he complimented it with six rebounds and four assists.

• Gwynedd Mercy University shot 54.4% (37-of-68) from the field - hit nine threes (9-of-24, .375) - and 72.7% (8-of-11) from the free throw line.
• The Griffins moved the ball well on the Knights, leading to 19 fastbreak points and 50 points in the paint.
• In addition to Johnson, graduate guard Shawn Summers Jr. (Montclair, N.J.) (13 points), senior guard Aquil Stewart (Philadelphia, Pa.) (12), sophomore guard Justin Savage (Philadelphia, Pa.) (11), and senior forward Dom Thomas (Mullica Hill, N.J.) (10).
• Junior guard Jalen Snead (Philadelphia, Pa.) was a major factor for the Red and Gold as well with nine points, a team-high eight rebounds, four assists, two blocks, and a steal.
