Knights Bend the Knee, Griffins Conquer in Battle of 309

Gwynedd Valley, Pa. - (11/13/2024) - Gwynedd Mercy University (2-0) gave Arcadia University (0-3) little room for error in tonight's Battle of 309 as the Griffins assumed a 52-34 halftime perch before celebrating a 91-65 triumph. The Red and Gold shot 60.0% (21-of-35) from the field and 87.5% (7-of-8) from the free throw line in the first half, while holding the Knights to a 33.3% (10-of-30) success rate from the floor and forcing them into nine turnovers. In the second half, Gwynedd Mercy University maxed their advantage at 36 points halfway through, 76-40 (10:12), and emptied the bench where it matched it just four minutes later; 87-51 (6:14). Junior guard D.J. Johnson (Norristown, Pa.) led five Griffins in double figures with a game-high 18 points; he complimented it with six rebounds and four assists.
