Second Game In a Row Where Griffins Game Ends In a Tie

Gwynedd Valley, Pa. - (9/25/2023) - Gwynedd Mercy University (1-3-3) welcomed Penn State Brandywine (4-3-1) to the Athletic Complex where a rainy cold Wednesday early evening neither team could get much going on offense leading to a 0-0 tie. The best chance of the game came in favor of the Griffins when junior defenseman Victor Cruz (New Castle, Del.) made a brilliant 40-yard cross pass to graduate forward captain Hugh Lynch (Philadelphia, Pa.) who got a header on the net but came up empty handed due to an incredible save from the Nittany Lions goalie.

Griffin Highlights:
  • Both offenses struggled in mothers' nature element with only six total shots on goal with Gwynedd Mercy recording four of those.
  • Lynch finished with a game-high three shots and two shots on net in the contest.
  • Graduate goalkeeper captain John Wagner (Phoenixville, Pa.) started the first 45 minutes of the game and recorded the only two saves registered against the Griffins earning the tie (1-1-2), while freshman goalkeeper Kevin Kretschman (Glenside, Pa.) played the final 45 minutes.

Gwynedd Mercy's next game starts conference play as the Griffins travel to Marymount University on Saturday, September 30, for a 2:00 p.m. kickoff.
