Gwynedd Valley, Pa. (9/1/2023) - The Gwynedd Mercy University Men's Soccer opened their 2023 season at the Athletic Complex against DeSales University where the Griffins fought tooth and nail with the Bulldogs but in the end, would come up just short and fall 1-0. Graduate Student team captain goalkeeper John Wagner (Phoenixville, Pa.) finished the game with a game-high five saves. 
 
Griffin Highlights:

• DeSales finished the game winning the shots on goal category 10-2. 
• Sophomore defenseman Josh Rossell (Mouth Ephraim, N.J.) and sophomore forward Braedon Kehan (Warrington, Pa.) finished with the only two shots on goal for the Griffins. 
• Gwynedd Mercy finished with nine saves, five from Wagner and four from freshman goalkeeper Kevin Kretschman (Glenside, Pa.). 

Gwynedd Mercy University looks to rebound when they host Penn College on Tuesday, September 5, for a 7:00 p.m. kickoff.
