Kasey Wallace (Audubon, N.J.) found the back of the net (1:58) to give Gwynedd an early 1-0 advantage. Unfortunately, the Patriots would go on to score two unanswered goals (46:05, 85:27) and walk away with the 2-1 victory.
Griffin Highlights:
- Gwynedd Mercy, when in the offensive zone put a strangle on Valley Forge's defense as they dominated the corner kick category 10-2.
- The Griffins and Patriots both finished with 12 shots, while the Patriots finished with five shots on goals and the Griffins finished with three.
- Junior forward Mert Yildirim (Levittown, Pa.) assisted on Wallace's goal. This is his first of the young season.
- Freshman goalkeeper Kevin Kretschman (Glenside, Pa.) started the first 45 minutes of the game allowing zero goals on two shots, while graduate goalkeeper John Wagner (Phoenixville, Pa.) was in net the entire second half allowing two goals on three shots and earning the loss. (0-1).
Gwynedd Mercy continues to search for their first win in 2023 and they will have another chance Wednesday, September 13th, as they host Albright College at the Athletic Complex for a 4:00 p.m. kickoff.
