Varilla Earns 100th Goal in Thrilling Conference Opener

Immaculata, PA - (4/1/23) - Gwynedd Mercy Women's Lacrosse fell 13-14 in overtime to Immaculata University.

Highlights:
  • Junior Captain, Kristin Varilla, led the offense with 7 goals while scoring her 100th goal in just 27 games as a Griffins.
  • Sophomores, Hailey Bloom and Alysia Collins, each had a hat trick on the day to round out the scoring. 
  • Sophomore, Cheyenne Avellino, won 4 of the team's 8 draw controls.
  • Senior Captain, Reilly Owens, dominated in cage with 16 saves on 30 shots.  She led both teams with 8 groundballs and 3 caused turnovers giving the Griffins a total of 27 possessions.
The Griffs will be back in action this Wednesday when they travel to Marymount for a 4pm start.
