Selinsgrove, Pa. - (3/29/2023) - Susquehanna University (7-4) separated from Gwynedd Mercy University (2-7) in today's road contest with a 10-1 first-quarter advantage. Scores from junior midfielder Justin Carney (Flemington, N.J.) (10:21) and sophomore midfielder Ian Kish (Easton, Pa.) (7:49) kept the spread the same at halftime, 12-3, but a 5-0 River Hawks third quarter made a evenly played fourth quarter irrelevant in a 19-5 conclusion.

Griffin Highlights

• Gwynedd Mercy University was 15-of-19 (.789) on the clear and won four face-offs (4-of-28, .143).
• The Griffins recovered 20 ground balls and caused five of the River Hawks' 19 turnovers.
• Gwynedd Mercy University was 1-of-2 on the man-up; the score came in the fourth quarter on a late connection (18-5, 5:21) between freshman attack Gunnar Seaman (Worcester, Pa.) and sophomore midfielder Richie Hughes (Turnersville, N.J.).
• Carney and Kish added to their second-quarter scores with respective tallies in the first (6-1, 7:40) and fourth (17-4, 11:29) quarters. The former recovered a ground ball and the latter scooped up two.
• Seaman added two ground balls and a caused turnover to his fourth-quarter assist.

Gwynedd Mercy University returns to action on Saturday, April 1, when they host Immaculata University for a 1:00 p.m. Atlantic East Conference (AEC) contest that will also serve as Senior Day for the Griffins.
