Frederick, MD - (3/22/23) The Gwynedd Mercy Women's Lacrosse Team fell to Hood College 8-20 on Wednesday night.

Highlights:

• Sophomore midfielder, Cheyenne Avellino, led the Griffin offense with 3 goals on the day, the most of her young career.  The New Jersey native also pitched in 3 groundballs and 2 draw controls.
• Junior Captain, Kristin Varilla, had a career high 6 draw controls while also contributing 2 goals and an assist.  
• Sophomore midfielder, Alysia Collins, found the back of the net twice and scooped up 2 groundballs and 2 draw controls.
• Senior goalkeeper, Reilly Owens, faced 28 shots and had 9 saves.  Freshman goalkeeper, Melanie Rola, had one save on two shots.
• The Griffins fought hard the entire game and won the fourth quarter 3-1.

The women will be back in action this Saturday, March 25th at noon against Arcadia University.  The game will be immediately followed by a performance from PAZA.
