Gwynedd Mercy, Pa. - (2/1/2023) The Gwynedd Mercy University Griffins (13-10, 6-4) played host to the Neumann University Knights (12-11, 5-5) and after a back and forth second half the Griffins were narrowly able to escape the Knights with a final score 70-67. Senior guard Elise Sylvester (Pottstown, Pa.) had a career night on January 11th against Marymount University where she finished with 24 points. Today Sylvester had a new career-high with 31 points. She also finished with four rebounds and three steals. 

Griffins Highlights:

• Senior Forward Haley Crossley (Philadelphia, Pa.) nearly finished with a triple double. She finished with 11 points, 14 rebounds, and eight assists. 
• Gwynedd Mercy came away with 12 steals while Neumann University only came away with four. Junior guard Lynzie Eggers finished with a game-high four steals.
• The full court press from the Griffins caused trouble for the Knights all day long forcing them to turn the ball over 19 times.
• Gwynedd Mercy scored 25 points off of turnovers. 

Gwynedd Mercy University returns to The Griffin Complex Wednesday, February 15th, when they host Centenary University (New Jersey) and also celebrate Senior Night. Game is scheudled  for a 6:00 p.m. tipoff.
