Media, Pa. - (12/21/2023) - Gwynedd Mercy University (6-6) was 10-of-18 (.556) from three-point range in a 45-28 first half that distanced the Griffins for an eventual 94-62 win in in tonight's affair at Penn State Brandywine (3-7). The Griffins built an early double-digit lead, 16-6 (14:57), over the Nittany Lions and quickly extended the difference to 18 points, 28-10 (11:15), with a three-pointer from sophomore guard D.J. Johnson (Norristown, Pa.) before the 11-minute mark. He was 3-of-3 (1.000) on his first half, three point attempts, headlining the Red and Gold's long range assault until a balanced second half precipitated their 28-point triumph.

Griffin Highlights

• Gwynedd Mercy University dominated the glass with a 47-29 rebounding advantage. The effort produced six second-chance points and helped the Griffins to 16 fastbreak points.
• In the second half, the difference increased to as many as 35 points, 84-49 (5:07) with 14 Griffins contributing.
• Senior guard JoHaan Vinson (Philadelphia, Pa.) recorded a team-high 14 points while also totaling a team-high six rebounds, two assists, and a steal.
