Hackettstown, N.J. - (10/25/2023) - Gwynedd Mercy University (4-7-6, 2-3-1) traveled to Centenary University (N.J.) (2-13, 1-5) the Griffins played their final regular season contest of the 2023 season. Senior forward Mert Yildirim (Levittown, Pa.) scored two goals at the 13:14 mark and 85:15 mark to give Yildirim a team-high four goals on the season. Freshman midfielder Luke O'Donnell (Glenside, Pa.) also netted his first collegiate career goal with 52 seconds (89:08) remaining in the game. The Griffins walked away with a 3-0 victory and will be headed to the Atlantic East Conference (AEC) Championship Tournament for the first time since the 2021 season. 
 
Griffin Highlights: 

• Freshman defenseman Axel Mayren (Atlantic City, N.J.) and sophomore forward Braedon Kehan (Warrington, Pa.) both finished with an assist to their name with the former assisting on O'Donnell's goal and the later assisting on Yildirim's second goal. 
• Both Gwynedd Mercy and the Cyclones had their chances in the offensive zone, however the Griffins did an exceptional job keeping the opposing team to tough angles and not allowing them to get shots on goals as Gwynedd Mercy won the shot on goal category 10-4. 
• Graduate goalkeeper John Wagner (Phoenixville, Pa.) started all 90 minutes in the net for the Griffins and earned the win in the regular season's final game, bringing his record to 4-4-4 on the year.

 
Gwynedd Mercy University returns to action Saturday, October 28, when they take part in the AEC Championship Tournament with their opponent and time to be determined.
