Gwynedd Valley, Pa. (10/21/2023) - Gwynedd Mercy University (3-7-6, 1-3-1) hosted Neumann University (3-7-6, 1-3-1) as before the game six seniors and graduate were honored for Senior Day including, graduate forward Evan Kirby (Bensalem, Pa.), senior midfielder Mike Fienman (Philadelphia, Pa.), graduate midfielder Hugh Lynch (Philadelphia, Pa.), graduate midfielder Antonio Catanzariti (Blackwood, N.J.), senior forward Mert Yildirim (Levittown, Pa.), and graduate goalkeeper John Wagner (Phoenixville, Pa.). Unfortunately, The Griffins could not come away with the win as they bowed to the Knights 2-1. 
 
Griffin Highlights: 
 

• At the 56:26-mark sophomore defenseman Hagan Meyer (Warrington, Pa.) took a foul allowing freshman defenseman Axel Mayren (Atlantic City, N.J.) a free kick from 40 yards away. Mayren made a beautiful pass on the free kick to Fienman allowing him to head in his team-leading fourth goal of the year. This was Mayren's first career assist in his collegiate career.
• Wagner started all 90 minutes for Gwynedd Mercy in net finishing with eight saves in the tie (3-4-4).
• The Griffins did not have many chances offensively as Neumann outshot Gwynedd 19-4.

 
Gwynedd Mercy University returns to action in their season and conference finale on Wednesday, October 25, when they travel to Centenary University (New Jersey) for a 3:00 p.m. kickoff.
