Philadelphia, Pa. – (1/18/2023) – Just a day removed from garnering Atlantic East Conference (AEC) Men's Basketball Offensive Player of the Week honors, Gwynedd Mercy University junior guard
Manny Clark (Pottsgrove, Pa.) was named the Philadelphia Small C

ollege Basketball Association (PSCBA) Player of the Week. Clark hit four threes (4-of-5, .800) and all six (6-of-6, 1.000) of his free throws in a career-high 38-point performance that led the Griffins to a 95-82 league victory over Marywood University. The Griffin Complex was at a fever pitch last Wednesday a semester's return and the lure of the inaugural AEC "Play for Joey" Games filled the bleachers with fans for a Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) White Out. A well-played first half saw both teams shoot better than 50.0% from the field and from three-point range. Down one at half, 48-47, Gwynedd Mercy University (8-7, 2-0) flipped the defensive switch in the latter frame, forcing 10 turnovers and holding Marywood University (6-9, 0-3) to a 8-of-23 (.348) shooting performance left the Pacers chasing the Griffins' tail.
Clark was 14-of-19 (.737) from the floor while keeping Marywood University off balance with five rebounds, an assist, and five steals. He headlined the high scoring first half with a 5-of-6 (.833) effort from the field and 2-of-2 (1.000) clip from the free throw line. The second half saw Clark add 25 more points and make four steals in a dizzying defensive effort that resulted in the Griffins' 48-34 run to victory.
Gwynedd Mercy University continues their AEC schedule on Wednesday, January 18, when they visit Neumann University for an 8:00 p.m. tipoff.
