Bryn Athyn, Pa. – (9/27/2022) Gwynedd Mercy University traveled to Bryn Athyn University and came away with a much-needed 3-0 (25-17, 25-14, 25-11) victory. Junior middle hitter
Ashley Brown (Lansdale, Pa.) finished with a team-high 12.5 points. Brown recorded 11 kills along with a block and a block assist.
Gwynedd Mercy University (4-9) and Bryn Athyn (0-9) started the first set trading points back and forth midway through the set the score was 9-8 favoring the Griffins. As the set went along, Gwynedd Mercy gained the momentum with nine of the next 14 points and forced Bryn Athyn to take a timeout at 18-13 This did not slow down Gwynedd Mercy as they took the next four points en route to a 25-17 set victory. As the second set was underway the Lions came out determined to even the series as they took an early 5-2 advantage over the Griffins. Gwynedd Mercy rallied back to make it a 9-9 affair midway through the second set and the Griffins never looked back in a 25-14 end. With all the momentum being on Gwynedd Mercy's side, the Griffins jumped out to an early 16-5 advantage. Leaving a five-kill run from Brown to pave the way for a 25-11 conclusion.

Bria Purnell (Reading, Pa.) finished just behind Brown with 11 points (10 kills and an ace), while freshman setter
Amanda Lopez (Houston, Texas) came away with a team-high three aces and also accounted for 12 assists and one dig. Senior libero and defensive specialist
Ashley Morris (Quakertown, Pa.) finished with two aces and a team-high 11 digs.
Gwynedd Mercy University returns home to host Lancaster Bible College Wednesday, September 28
th, for a 7:00 p.m. contest.
