Bethlehem, Pa. - (4/26/2022) - Today's non-conference contest at Moravian University (20-15) came to an end in the bottom of the eighth inning as it was called due to rain following a one-out Greyhound sacrifice fly; 7-6. Gwynedd Mercy University (16-18) rallied from an early 6-2 deficit with three runs between the fifth (6-3) and sixth (6-5) innings; the tying run came home on a bases-loaded walk to senior catcher/second baseman Connor Boyd (Brookhaven, Pa.). Unfortunately, a well-ran bunt from sophomore right fielder Barry Walker (Egg Harbor City, N.J.) was wasted as Moravian University nullified the Griffins' game tying tally with their rain-off.

Boyd (2-for-3, BB, R, 2 RBI) was one of four Griffins to record two hits in the contest. He singled in a run in the second inning and singled with one out in the fifth before drawing his game-tying base on balls. Collins (2-for-3, RBI) was another; he also knocked in an early run with his first-inning double down the right field line. Junior third baseman Noah Andress (Levittown, Pa.) (2-for-3, RBI) matched the stat line with his sixth-inning single to left field.

Gwynedd Mercy University returns to their Atlantic East Conference (AEC) schedule on Friday, April 28, when they visit Cabrini University for a 3:30 p.m. contest.
