Washington, D.C. - (12/20/2022) - Gwynedd Mercy University (7-5) took part in their final game in the Jamie Lynn Roberts-Fairfield Inn DC Holiday Tournament as they took on Berea College (Ky.) as the Griffins came up just short to the Mountaineers 69-62. Junior guard Lynzie Eggers (Turnersvillem N.J.) did her best to keep Gwynedd Mercy in the game as she went 6-21 from the field with a season-high 25 points and nine rebounds. Eggers also finished with two assists and three steals. Eggers had a fantastic showing at the Jamie Lynn Roberts-Fairfield Inn DC Holiday Tournament and was named to the All-Tournament team that was announced at the end of the tournament. 

Griffin Highlights:

• Senior forward Cayla Sharkey (Lansdale, Pa.) continued her dominant performance on the defensive end as he finished with a team-high nine rebounds and had the Griffins only three blocks. Sharkey also scored five points and had two steals. 
• Senior guard Elise Sylvester (Pottstown, Pa.) shot 6-16 from the field with 18 points, three rebounds, three steals, and a team-high three assists.
• Griffins bench was outscored 18-9.

The Griffins will be back in action Friday, December 30, when they travel to the historic Palestra and take on the University of Pennsylvania. The game is set to tip-off at 2:00 p.m.
