Wilkes-Barre, Pa. - Gwynedd Mercy University (8-17) visited King's College (Pa.) (18-10) in what was the Griffins final regular season game of the 2022 season. The Monarchs came out in the first set with a commanding 16-9 lead over Gwynedd Mercy, and it would be too much to overcome as King's took the first set 25-17. The Griffins clawed their way back when the second set was tied 24-24, but a couple of errors from the Monarchs allowed Gwynedd to take the second set 26-24. The third set was much like the first set, King's College jumped out to an early 7-1 lead which would be too much for the Griffins to overcome as they would eventually drop the third set 25-21. With King's leading 2-1 Gwynedd Mercy dug deep and took the fourth set 25-20. The deciding fifth set was back and forth, but the Monarchs eventually came away with a 15-12 set and match (3-2) victory. 

• Junior outside hitter Bria Purnell (Reading, Pa.) finished with a team team-high 21 points with 20 kills and two block assists. 
• Senior libero Ashley Morris (Quakertown, Pa.) finished with a team-high 22 digs. She also finished with her only kill in the second set. 
• Freshman setter Ayanna Gaston (Middletown, Del.) finished with a career-high 46 assists. 

Gwynedd Mercy University begins their Atlantic East Conference (AEC) playoff run when they travel to Marywood University on Tuesday, November 1, for a 7:00 p.m. match.
