GWYNEDD VALLEY, Pa. – Gwynedd Mercy swept Bryn Athyn 3-0 Tuesday evening as the Griffins dominated each set 25-11, 25-15, 25-19.

Julianne Dove and Maddie Stancil each contributed 6 of the team's 33 kills. Bridget McTamney added 26 assists and 3 aces while Ashley Morris, Lauren Yancer and Stancil each recorded double-digit digs. Yancer also led the team in aces with 5.

The Griffins got to a strong start in the first set winning 10 straight points. After a response by Bryn Athyn, Aybria Purnell sealed the set with a kill.

The beginning of the second set went back and forth until the Griffins went on a hot streak fueled by a Bryn Athyn service error. The second set closed out with a kill from both Dove and McTamney.

In the final set, the closest of all three sets, Bryn Athyn got on the board first until the Griffins capitalized on their opportunities. A Dove service ace earned the final set win and a match victory.

Gwynedd hopes to continue their winning ways when they meet Bryn Mawr College Thursday, September 23 at 7:00 p.m.
