MEDIA, PA. -- The 2019 season got underway on Friday at the Bryn Mawr College Invitational held at the Rose Tree Park Media.

As a team, Gwynedd Mercy placed seventh overall out of 11 scoring teams. The race featured 116 competitors on the 5k course.

Top Griffin honors went to Emily Stewart who was 50th in a time of 24:36.17. Julianna Green (55th – 24:51.03), Ally Sharkey (73rd – 26:36.44), Keely Greene (75th - 26:42.98), Alicia Bennett (82nd - 27:37.99), Kristen Dougher (85th – 28:13.84) rounded out the lineup for Gwynedd.

Eastern's Megan Bernotas finished the course 20:25.83 finish first. The Eagles edged out Swarthmore for the team crown.

The Griffins are back in action next Saturday when they head to the Belmont Plateau in Philadelphia for the Philadelphia Metro Invitational hosted by Jefferson University.
