IMMACULATA, PA. --
Ryan Simpson became the third player in program history to surpass the 100-career goal mark in Gwynedd Mercy's 17-6 performance over Immaculata in an Atlantic East Conference contest.
Simpson finished with a game-high five goals, giving him 101 in his career. The milestone took place at the 8:52 mark of the third quarter as his tally helped stake the Griffins out to a 14-1 advantage. But it wasn't the only career record Simpson altered. Among his five goals were two on the man-up, giving him 19 to put him on top of the all-time list.

Leading 3-1 after the first quarter, GMercyU turned it on offensively and defensively, outscoring IU, 12-0, and holding the Mighty Macs without a score from 10:46 in the second to 2:10 in the third.
Shawn Ryan and
Bryan Butler each had three caused turnovers and a pair of groundballs. David Resser and
Nick Freda hit career highs in groundballs with five apiece.
Joey Giordano tied a personal best, winning 18 faceoffs on 22 attempts. Goalie
Aubron Swartley etched out nine saves in the win.
James Barretta totaled three goals and a pair of assists for IU. Keeper Denton Slates was kept busy all day, making 20 saves on 61 Gwynedd shots.
The Griffins return home on Wednesday night when they host Marywood under the lights starting at 7 p.m.
