GWYNEDD VALLEY, PA. -- Gwynedd Mercy fell in their Atlantic East Conference opener on Saturday to sixth-ranked (USILA) Cabrini, 20-2.
Derek Alcavage and
Jordan Dzierzgowski netted the goals for the Griffins, who lost their third in a row.
For the Cavaliers, Jordan Krug scored five times with teammates Bill Morgan adding four and Mike Gerzabek and Griffin Shira with three.
Dzierzgowski opened the scoring in the second quarter off an assist from
Daniel Decker. Alcavage's tally came midway in the fourth quarter.
Goalie
Aubron Swartley saw 29 shots and made eight saves.
Jared Buehre entered to start the final quarter.
Philip Weis and
Zach Groses each added a pair of groundballs and a caused turnover.
The Griffins continue Atlantic East play on Wednesday when they travel to Marymount in a 7 p.m. start.
