READING, PA. -- Gwynedd Mercy fell in four sets at Penn State- Berks Tuesday evening, 25-17, 19-25, 25-18, 25-21.
Madelyn Mosser had quite the night, totaling 10 kills, 15 digs, three aces, and six blocks (three solo). The blocks were a career high while the double double was her second on the season.
Kaylee Craig added seven kills while
Bridget McTamney kicked in 20 assists and 15 digs.
Penn State-Berks was led by Natalie Dwyer's match-high 21 kills.
The Lions took the first set thanks to 19 kills but the Griffins responded in the second as Craig and McTamney had three kills apiece. GMercyU turned a 15-14 deficit into a lead they did not relinquish by scoring eight-straight points to tie things up a set apiece.
Berks returned the favor in the fourth set, as their 11-2 spurt gave them a 20-13 lead. Mosser's solo block was part of five in a row to get within two, but it would be the closest they could get.
Gwynedd Mercy returns to conference play when they travel to Wesley in an AEC showdown starting at 7 p.m.
