GWYNEDD VALLEY, PA. -- Hugh Lynch netted two goals but it was Goucher who scored four times in the second half to pull away in a 5-2 decision over the Griffins Tuesday evening in non-conference action in the regular-season finale.

GMercyU now must await the outcome of Wednesday's Immaculata at Marywood game to see if their season continues in the Atlantic East Conference Playoffs. The Griffins need an Immaculata victory to assure them the sixth and final seed in the six-team tournament and to knock out the Pacers.

Lynch got the Griffins on the board in the 18th minute with his third tally on the season. Mike Kerkering drew the assist. With just under 17 minutes before the half, the Gophers' Xavier Dever made it 1-1. Griffin goalie Kace Peters kept it tied as he turned away a penalty kick in the 30th minute. He would finish with five saves before a goalie switch at the break.

It became a 2-1 Griffin lead when Lynch struck again, this time on his fourth goal of the year on a nice blast in the upper 90 of the cage. However, Goucher put together back-to-back goals in a span of less than two minutes to turn the momentum. They would add two more insurance scores in the final 12:28 of the game to help cement the outcome.

Tyler Blair made three stops as he saw action in the second half. The Griffins were outshot, 18-7, and saw a 7-2 corner kick edge by the Gophers.

Joe May recorded three saves for the visitors before being subbed out late in the contest.
