GWYNEDD VALLEY, PA. -- Gwynedd took down Wesley with a final score of 85-59 to stretch their win streak to five games.

Clayton Wolfe led the Griffins as the senior flirted with a triple-double, totaling 21 points, 11 rebounds, and eight assists.  Three other players scored in double digits including Courtney Cubbage (18), Somah Slewion (12), and Rich Dunham (10).

Wesley's Brian Cameron led the game with 24 points.

After holding a five-point edge at halftime, GMercyU controlled the second half, shooting 68% and limiting the Wolverines to just 25% from the floor. The Griffins hit eight of their season-high 12 three-pointers in the second half alone.

7492The first half presented eight lead changes and six ties as the teams stayed within each other's reach. Wesley took a lead with 10:29 to go in the stanza and maintained it until Wolfe and Dunham hit back-t-back three's to give Gwynedd a 26-24 lead with 6:22 in the period. The Griffins looked to pull away with baskets from Jaylen Henry, Wolfe, and Cubbage as part of a 9-0 run. Cameron sunk a three with 30 seconds left in the half to get Wesley within two, but Wolfe answered with one of his own to bring the score to 39-34 at the end of the half.

Cubbage hit a three with 15:36 to play to give Gwynedd a double-digit lead they would not relinquish. The lead swelled to 20 after Wolfe hit from downtown. He would go a perfect 5-for-5 from beyond the arc on the night.

The Griffins return back to action at Marywood next Wednesday at 8 p.m.
