SCRANTON, PA. -- Gwynedd Mercy's win streak was snapped as the Griffins fell at Marywood, 84-69, Wednesday night.
Junior
Rich Dunham paced GMercyU with a game-high 20 points.
Courtney Cubbage contributed 14 points and seven rebounds while
Clayton Wolfe kicked in 11 points and nine caroms.
Thomas Swartz led Marywood with 18 points. He was one of five players in double figures.
After taking an early lead in the first half, the Griffins fell behind as much as nine in the stanza. Two free throws and later a bucket from Dunham gave Gwynedd a 28-25 edge with four minutes before the half. Marywood scored the last four points of the period to lead 29-28 at the break.
Jack DeGroot's three-point play midway in the second gave the Pacers their first double-digit lead (51-41). Despite both teams shooting over 50% each from the floor, the Griffins were unable to keep pace in having their five-game win streak come to an end.
The team travels to Cabrini on Saturday to continue conference play.
