DOYLESTOWN, PA. -- Gwynedd Mercy picked up a 3-0 win at Delaware Valley Tuesday night, to stretch their win streak to three matches. Set scores were 25-19, 25-22, and 25-20.
The Griffins (8-7) got a balanced attack as eight different players registered kills. Setter
Bridget McTamney notched her seventh double-double of the season, totaling 22 assists and 22 digs along with three aces and a pair of kills.
Gwynedd ran out to a 9-3 lead in the first and kept their edge throughout to take the first set. The team totaled 12 kills in the second set, while fighting through six ties and three lead changes. The squad relinquished a lead (18-17), but used an 8-4 run closed out by a kill from
Madelyn Mosser to go up 2-0.
Again the team racked up 12 kills, this time in the third, and had to endure 10 tie scores and five lead changes, the last coming on a kill from
Kaylee Craig for a 16-15 lead.
Kayla Bracken finished the night with a match-high nine kills for the Aggies (3-7).
The team returns to action on Thursday when they welcome Rosemont to The Griffin Complex, starting at 6 p.m.
