GWYNEDD VALLEY, PA. -- Gwynedd Mercy took care of business in their home tri-match on Saturday, sweeping both matches. The Griffins were 3-2 winners over Bryn Mawr in the day's first match, then ended the day with a 3-1 victory over Bryn Athyn.
The middle match saw Bryn Mawr win
a 3-0 decision over Bryn Athyn.
Against Bryn Mawr, GMercyU averaged double-digit kills in all five sets, led by
Liz Schule who totaled a career-high 18 along with 12 digs. She was one of two Griffins to finish with a double-double; Bridget McTamey (season-high 48 assists/22 digs/4 aces).
Madelyn Mosser tossed in eight kills and 22 digs. Five players had double figures in digs as well.
Camille Baechler led the Owls with 12 kills. Setter Nicole Wood added 29 assists, 16 digs, and seven kills.
In the match with the Lions, Gwynedd won the first set before falling in the second. They would clamp down to win the next two to close it out.
Cassie McCarney led four players in double figure kills, posting a career-high 12. Mosser and
Brittany Albert registered 11 with Schule adding 10.
Kerry McGlinn and
Cait Saalfrank each had five aces as the team racked up a season-high 18.
Lex Juritsch and Briana Cliney each had 10 kills to lead Bryn Athyn.
The team (7-7) is back at it on Tuesday with a short road trip up to Delaware Valley.
