GWYNEDD VALLEY, PA. -- The Gwynedd Mercy Volleyball Team closed out their weekend play with a victory over Lincoln on Saturday afternoon as the team kicked off their 2018 campaign.
On Friday, the Griffins traveled to the University of Scranton for the Scranton Invitational, facing off against Hood and Misericordia. Gwynedd fell 3-1 (25-15, 23-25, 17-25, 19-25) to the Blazers and 3-1 to the Cougars (25-11, 25-17, 22-25, 25-15).
The following day, the squad headed to Lincoln for a tri-match with Notre Dame of Maryland and the host Lions. Gwynedd was on the wrong end of a 3-0 defeat to the Gators (25-10, 25-16, 25-19), but finished with a 25-22, 25-9, 25-16 win over Division II Lincoln.

Madelyn Mosser each totaled 17 kills in the four matches to lead the attack. Schule recorded a team-high nine in the season opener with Hood. Mosser totaled eight blocks (four solo) to help shore up the middle. Freshman setter
Bridget McTamney dished out 57 of the team's 73 assists over the weekend.
Gwynedd Mercy returns to action on Wednesday with a match at Penn State-Abington.
