The team led from start to finish in the second set. Schule's third kill of the set gave Gwynedd an 18-12 lead before the Lions got it to 21-19 courtesy of a 7-2 run. She helped close out a 25-20 win with her fourth kill to end it.
Mosser came alive in the third and fourth sets, registering four and five kills respectively. In that third set and leading 14-10, the Griffins ran off an 11-2 spurt to go up 2-1.
The fourth set saw the Lions (3-3) take an early lead, eventually to go up, 15-11. With four points in a row, Gwynedd was able to tie it for the first time. Later, Albright grinded ahead to a 21-17 score, forcing a Griffin timeout. Â Now down 22-20, Gwynedd rallied as three kills in a row from Mosser and an ace from
Lauren Yancer put them at match point. Mosser wrapped it up as her fifth kill of the set improved GMercyU to 3-0 at home.
Bryanna Chambers led the Lions with 10 kills. Setter Alexa Poss contributed 27 assists and 16 digs.
The team travels to Baltimore tomorrow night to face off with Notre Dame of Maryland. This will be the second meeting this season as the two met at Lincoln on September 1st with the Gators coming away with the win.
