LAPLUME, PA. -- Gwynedd Mercy cemented the #2 playoff seed scoring a season high in goals in their 21-4 CSAC win at Keystone on Saturday.
Ten different Griffins scored on the day, led by
Jordan Dzierzgowski who put up a career-high five goals.
Dominic Moscariello and Dan Decker each added three apiece as Gwynedd built a 4-1 lead after the first quarter and turned that advantage to an 11-2 edge at halftime.
As a team, Gwynedd totaled a season-high 43 groundballs, and added 11 caused turnovers.
Shawn Ryan led both categories, with a personal-best eight GB's and three caused turnovers.
Kohler Setley also nabbed eight groundballs.
Setley, Ryan Gartenmeyer, and
Nick Freda all scored twice.
Goalie
Chris Burns made four stops in three quarters of action. Rookie
Matthew Rinck saw his first action of the season and turned in four saves as well.
Caleb Strope totaled two goals and two assists for the Giants (0-12, 0-6 CSAC).
Gwynedd Mercy (8-3, 5-1 CSAC) closes out the regular season on Wednesday when they host Rosemont at 7 p.m. GMercyU will host a CSAC Semifinal game here next Saturday against third-seeded Marywood in a time to be determined.
