Winning Streak Halted By Cabrini

GWYNEDD VALLEY, PA. -- Cabrini snapped Gwynedd Mercy's five-game win streak as the Griffins fell to the Cavaliers, 16-6, Wednesday evening.

Jacob Snavely led GMercyU with three goals, including a man-up tally. Dominic Moscariello added a pair with an assist and Jordan Dzierzgowski added a score.

Jordan Krug scored six goals for the nationally-ranked Cavaliers. Jake Klein and Matt LoParo each recorded two scores and a helper.

LoParo opened the scoring at the 10:48 mark of the first, but the Griffins responded with back-to-back goals from Snavely and Moscariello less than two minutes apart to take a 2-1 edge. Krug scored twice in a five-goal spurt that put Cabrini back on top. Moscariello beat the buzzer with his unassisted score at the end of the first quarter for a 6-3 score.

Krug tacked on two more in the second to help the Cavaliers (12-2, 5-0 CSAC) stretch the deficit to 9-3 at halftime.

Later in the third, Snavely had the highlight goal of the night, taking a quick feed from behind the cage and scoring on a nice behind-the-back shot.

Goalie Chris Burns stood tall, facing a season-high 49 shots and making 12 saves. Cabrini keeper Riley White made five stops.

The Griffins (7-3, 4-1 CSAC) can cement the #2 playoff seed and a semifinal home game with a win at Keystone on Saturday.
