ASTON, PA. -- Gwynedd Mercy picked up their fourth win in a row with a 14-5 win at Neumann on Wednesday in a Colonial States Athletic Conference clash.
Ryan Simpson tied a program game record with eight points in the win, a personal best, scoring four goals and assisting on four others. Brother Joe and
Jordan Dzierzgowski added three tallies each and
Jacob Snavely kicked in a pair as GMercyU built a 6-4 halftime lead and shut down the Knights in the second half, yielding just one goal.

Chris Burns came alive in the second half, making six of his seven stops over the final two quarters.
Joey Giordano won a personal best 18-of-21 faceoffs at the X and the team was good on 11-of-12 clears.
The Knights (1-10, 0-3 CSAC) netted the game's first two scores before
Ryan Simpson got the Griffins on the board. Neumann led Gwynedd, 2-1, after one. In the second, the Griffins put together a four-goal string in the first five minutes of the quarter. Neumann looked to climb back in, scoring two of their own later in the frame to get within one.

The offensive surge continued into the third as another four-goal spurt helped widen the lead. Up 10-5 going into the final quarter, Gwynedd took advantage of back-to-back penalties to score man-up tallies from Dzierzgowski and
Ryan Simpson, respectively.
Dominic Moscariello and
Kohler Setley also scored for Gwynedd, who moved to 10-0 all-time against the Knights.
Brendan Risley made 11 saves in goal for Neumann, who was outshot, 45-23. The Griffins won the groundball battle, 35-21, with Giordano nabbing a team-high six.
Gwynedd Mercy returns to action on Saturday when they head to Scranton to face Marywood in a matchup of conference unbeatens.
