GWYNEDD VALLEY, PA. -- Gwynedd Mercy powered its way to their first Colonial States Athletic Conference victory with an 8-4 win over Marywood Saturday afternoon.
Kohler Setley led the offense with two goals and two assists and
Jacob Snavely added two scores.
Joseph Pandolfi kicked in a tally and a helper while
Dominic Moscariello,
Jordan Dzierzgowski and Dan Decker also found the back of the net.
Tied 1-1 after the first quarter, the Griffins (3-5, 1-1 CSAC) netted four goals in the second to take a commanding 5-1 edge into halftime.
Goalie
Sean Myers kept the Pacers in check, recording a career-high 14 saves in the win. He made eight first-half saves to help the team to their four-goal edge.
Dzierzgowski, Snavely, Setley all added third-quarter goals to extend the lead to 8-1 heading into the final stanza.
Luke Shedler had a goal and a helper for Marywood (4-7, 1-1 CSAC), who suffered their first CSAC loss on the year.
Defensively, the team totaled 11 caused turnovers, five coming from
Marc Bushong, which tied a career high. Bushong also picked up a game-high eight groundballs. Dzierzgowski and
Anthony Pozsonyi added two caused turnovers as well.
Vinny Biancardi totaled eight saves in over 38 minutes in goal.
Gwynedd Mercy is back in action a week from today when they welcome Keystone in a CSAC clash starting at noon.
