CAMDEN, N.J. -- In a Friday night affair, Rutgers-Camden handed Gwynedd Mercy a 3-0 (25-14, 25-16, 25-17) setback in a non-conference matchup.
The Griffins hit 22-19-87 (.034), led by seven kills from
Abreeanna Bisenius and six from
Rainah Dunham.
Jamie Mulligan led the Scarlet-Raptors (11-11) with a match-high nine kills while adding three aces and seven digs.
Gwynedd traded points with R-C in the first set, but a 7-1 run by the home team opened up a 16-7 score. In, the second set, the Griffins had trouble finding a rhythm to take a lead. GMercyU made a late run in set number three, getting within 23-17, but were unable to force a fourth set.
Kerry McGlinn doled out 19 of the team's 20 assists while
Cait Saalfrank notched a team-high 11 digs.
Tomorrow's match at Marywood has been postponed due to major construction along the Northeast Extension of the Pennsylvania Turnpike scheduled for the weekend. The match will be played this coming Wednesday, October 18th at 7 p.m.
