HAVERFORD, PA. -- Gwynedd Mercy fell, 15-2, at Haverford Wednesday afternoon in non-conference action.
The Griffins (1-2) got their lone goals in the second quarter from
Tony McCraw and in the fourth from
Tommy Belmont.
Chase Williams scored four times for the Fords (3-2) while Isaac Krier and Patrick Girard each added three. Haverford led 3-0 after the first and took a 6-1 advantage into the break.
McCraw, goalie
Sean Myers, and
Marc Bushong all registered three groundballs apiece. Bushong added three caused turnovers, which moved him into second on the Griffin all-time career list.
Myers would play the first half, and finish the day with five saves. Rookie
Chris Burns stepped in between the pipes in the second half for his first collegiate action and recorded three stops. Haverford keeper Eric Caliendo made 10 saves as he played late into the fourth quarter.
Gwynedd Mercy will get right back at it on Saturday when they head to Messiah.
